Interesting article from “HR Today”, written by Marc Benninger, on the use of coaching in talent management in the Suisse romande region (analysis conducted by Carla Pereira) :
> only 36% of respondants use coaching for talent management.
> in Anglo-Saxon countries, 74% of coaches say they operate as development coaching (high potentials, succession planning, preparation for a leadership role) and only 12% for remediation coaching (vs 51% in Suisse romande).
> in the Anglo-Saxon world, as well as in sports or music, having a coach is seen as “potential to be developed” and more of a privilege perceived as an investment provided by the company for developing its talents.
There are a few leads for Human Resources to better support their “Learning & Development” strategy :
-> In Switzerland, coaching used for talent development is ranked #5 on 7.
-> Coaching proves to me more used in companies when it is part of talent management strategy.
-> 80% of those who have had a (direct or indirect) experience with coaching found it efficient vs. only 4% that found it unefficient.
