- CHALLENGES OF A RELOCATION in a dual career couple setting
Today’s dual career couples – in which both partners have a career – are more frequent and can represent a significant challenge for both the couples and their respective companies, as :
- Nobody is ready to have one of the partners “sacrificing” his/her career as consequence of a relocation.
- Family reasons have held the top spot among reasons relocations were declined by employees.
- Depending on the assignment package, a failed international assignment (eg early return of the whole family) can cost a company three to four times the base salary.
