leadership & emotional intelligence

Leadership and emotional intelligence

Here are the main tools we use for leadership assessment

Personality assessment

The personality assessment, based on the big five personality traits – Five Factor Model – gives you a picture of your personality and helps you understand how you interact with people. It also gives you some insight into why people have different reactions than you do in different situations.
The Big Five Model is able to account for different traits in personality and is used by scientific researchers around the world.

360° Leadership assessment

Receiving a reliable and accurate feedback is important to help leaders that want to improve leadership skills. And the more you go up, the more it is difficult to get one. Through 360° Leadership report, you will get a non-biased and high-quality feedback on your leadership style from your colleagues (line manager, peers and team members), without being difficult or time consuming. Easily and with a reasonable time investment.
13 Leadership dimensions
Leadership Assessment have been proven* to have a direct impact leadership levels. The following dimensions have been scientifically proven to be key to increase leadership effectiveness.
Transformational leadership focuses on setting a vision, being charismatic, developing employees and inspiring them to achieve better individual and organizational performance.

Transactional leadership focuses on ensuring that employee efforts are aligned with those of the organization by using incentives and disincentives.

Ethical Leadership focuses on the idea of “doing the right thing”.

Based on 25 years of scientific research, the 360° leadership questionnaire* that we use, focuses on 13 key behaviours that distinguish highly influential from less effective leaders. It gives you the feedback you need to pave the way to more impactful leadership.

Mastering others is strength; mastering oneself is true power

Hogan - Leadership Forecast Series

Trusted by 75% of Fortune 500 Companies, Hogan Assessments are grounded in more than 20 years of validated research.

An organization depends on their leaders to set strategic vision, make critical decisions and lead teams. But even the best leaders can get in their own way if they are not strategically self-aware. But if they are given the tools they need to becoming more aware of their own strengths and shortcomings, they’ll thrive.

Hogan’s flagship product, the Leadership Forecast Series, provides an in-depth look at a leader’s performance capabilities, challenges, and core drivers. Used it for succession planning decisions and leadership development, leaders will gain strategic self-awareness to leverage their strengths, avoid behaviours that get in the way of success, and gain insight into the culture they create for their teams based on their motivators and values.

4 key dimensions measured by Hogan Assessment
Identity is the story we tell ourselves about ourselves — in short, the person you think you are. While there might be some truth in the way we perceive ourselves, we are usually wrong. We often have an inflated idea of our own talent, or we might be too hard on ourselves.
Reputation is what everyone else thinks of us, based on our behaviours. Your reputation is the person other people think you are, and we know that success in the workplace is dependent on reputation. That’s why the best personality test will measure this dimension.
The bright side (of personality) describes how we relate to others when we are at our best. Assessing this part of personality gives valuable insight into how people work, how they lead, and how successful they are in an organization.
The dark side of personality emerges in times of increased pressure or stress and can damage reputations, disrupt relationships, and derail people’s chances of success. By assessing their dark-side personality, leaders can recognize and mitigate performance risks before they become a real problem.

Emotional intelligence

A successful organization requires members with high cognitive, professional, and emotional competencies. EMCO4 is a performance-based Emotional Intelligence (versus a self-report) questionnaire and provides an objective assessment of abilities (versus self evaluation) as well as a clear interpretation of Emotional Intelligence scores. It is focused specifically on workplace. It was developed by University of Geneva (Switzerland) together with the renowned Swiss Center for Affective Sciences in Geneva (Switzerland).
EMCO4 model measures :
Emotion recognition is the ability to accurately recognize emotions from other people’s nonverbal expressions conveyed by the face, voice, or body.
Emotion regulation is the ability to create and maintain positive affective states and reduce negative affective states in oneself.
Emotional understanding is the ability to understand the qualities, causes, and consequences of one’s own and others’ emotions.

Emotion management is the ability to effectively regulate other people’s (usually negative) emotions through behavioural strategies.
